Excursion to Kazbegi

Trip program

You leave for Kazbegi in the morning. The end point of the route is the settlement of Stepantsminda, located at the foot of Kazbek, from where a picturesque view of the mountain opens up. Various sights you can enjoy along the way. On the way, you will visit the Zhinvali hydroelectric power station, built on the Aragvi River in the 1980s. Next to it is the Ananuri Fortress - a complex of well-preserved objects, the oldest of which was built in the XIII century.

On the way to Kazbegi, you will also visit viewing platforms, from which you can admire beautiful landscapes. One of them is the Arch of Friendship, designed by Zurab Tsereteli. Then your path will pass through the Darial Gorge. You will climb to the church of Gergeti, located near the village of Stepantsminda. This majestic temple of the XIV century towers on the top of the mountain near Kazbek. At the end of the day you return to Tbilisi.
